Spring Fashion at EverPrettyShop

Looking for a fresh burst of color for your wardrobe? An online store I’ve found offers a perfect collection of beautiful and colorful summer / spring dresses that will freshen any wardrobe all year round.

Ever Pretty , a Canadian headquartered company operating a warehouse in China, specializes in offering a massive selection of gorgeous dresses that is perfect for the warmer weather. True to its name, the dresses they have in store are truly pretty and are of good quality materials as well.

I myself have purchased two dresses from Ever Pretty Shop and I love them! They’re all very feminine and girly, and some of the designs are just so gorgeous. Shipping was reliable and on time and the dresses I received were as pretty as described and I really love wearing them. Well, to be perfectly honest, I really love one of them and the other I had given to my friend as a gift instead as it didn’t quite had the right fit for me.

They’re available in various sizes and I’m sure everyone can find something that they’ll wear and love from this store. They also have three eBay stores operating out of Australia, UK and US. They have received such raving reviews from their customers.

On their eBay store in Australia, most of these dresses are on auction but there are a few which can be purchased as “Buy It Now” items. Bids often start at a low price of $13 and “Buy It Now” items varies from $40 – $60. I purchased both of my dresses as winning bids on eBay for under $20, which is absolutely wonderful.

The online store website retails the dresses from anywhere between USD 30 to USD 100. However, I noticed that they have a greater selection compared to those offered on their eBay stores. They ship worldwide and right now, there seems to be a current offer for free shipping to any location worldwide.

Ready for the warmer weather? Freshen up your wardrobe with fresher burst of colors and get pretty with Ever Pretty today!

Review: Silk Naturals Berry Crush

Description: Berry Crush has a raspberry pink undertone with an overlay of gold. The combination of warm gold tones with cool berry pink is just gorgeous – and it is a clone of MAC’s Viva Glam V lipstick.
This shade is neutral yet has a touch of glam at the same time and I absolutely love it! It looks great with my warm skin tone and is perfect to pull off both a natural look or a sun-kissed look. On me it comes off as a pearlescent shade of brownish pink with a barely there shimmer that I absolutely love.

I wear this shade quite often, even to work despite its golden and slight shimmery hues. The formula is much better than Breathless, it’s creamier in the feel of it, but solid in texture. There is no messy residue and the lipstick does not break off easily.

It is quite pigmented and lasts for a good 5 hours or so before showing signs of wearing off. Do not be frightened off by the shimmer. It’s not “old” or “classic” looking, but just the right amount of shimmer that shows up very finely and flaunts off your lips.

I had my doubts on the shimmer myself, but trust me, it works well with this shade and looks fabulous. It brings out my own natural lip color well. You can even dress it up with a smokey eye and I’m sure it will look absolutely glam.

It is said to be MAC’s Viva Glam V clone, however, since I don’t have the latter, I am unable to compare between the two.

It goes on really smooth and you can’t feel the gritty feel of the shimmer like some other shimmery lippies. This is also a color you can build up or dress down according to your mood and fancy.

On the whole, I truly love this shade! Very versatile, very wearable, very fab and can be dressed up to be very glam! The extremely affordable price makes it even more attractive at only $4.25 on the Silk Naturals website.

Silk Naturals have scored yet again! =)

Even if you have cool pink undertones – the little bit of gold is sexy, and it’s not overly warm. If you are warm toned, it will pick up the golden tones in your skin, and the cool berry tone will give a little extra twist of glam.

Review: Everyday Minerals Gentle Lip Scrub

Description: Take a pinch of loose jojoba dots and gently apply to your lips in a scrubbing motion. As it gently exfoliates, it also naturally melts into your lips – no need to rinse off.

I purchased this product quite some time ago and thought that I would love it from the start. Unfortunately, my relationship with this product began on a terrible note and I was about to cross it off my list of products to repurchase when I started to see and feel what it can really do.

It could be due to such high expectations of mine when purchasing the product that I was terribly dissapointed to receive the actual one when it didn’t meet half the expectations I had of it.

The product comes in this round tin with a lid that is terribly loose and comes off easily. Packaging-wise, I’d rate it a big no-no. It is definitely not something you want in your purse and you obviously can’t bring it around with you when you travel. This is strictly for home use only as otherwise, spillage will definitely occur.

Secondly, whilst it is packed to the brim and I’m sure will last you forever, I did not like the look of this detergent-powder looking product. It is of course jojoba beads, but it looks rather unsightly. I expected it to have a more solid nature like most exfoliants, but because it came in this very loose form of beads, again, you’ve got to be extra extra careful when opening the tin as everything will fall out everywhere otherwise.

In terms of its usage, my first impression is that it does not really scrub well. Basically when you rub it against your lips, these jojoba beads will turn to minuscule white grains that gently rubs your lips. As you rub, these grains will melt into your lips. I don’t know about not rinsing after that though, because I do.

When I used it the first few times, I didn’t see the effects of it at all and was terribly annoyed at how ineffective this product was. However, first impressions sometimes don’t matter if you care to dig hard enough to find the true gem. I persistently used this a few more times and then found that whilst it was just a very gentle exfoliant, when you use it for a while, you will actually feel that your lips texture has actually softened and smoothed quite a bit. Dry, chapped lips are now a thing of the past and in fact, because the jojoba beads has got moisturizing properties, it does help to moisten the lips without any greasy or waxy feeling. It is a great base or primer for lips in preparation for your gloss or lipstick.

I wouldn’t go so far as to suggest that you wouldn’t need a lip balm after this though. It could be just me, but I definitely still need a lip balm even after moisturizing and softening my lips with this product. Particularly during the dry winter season here.

On the whole, it is quite a clever product that does what it’s meant to do well. However, EDM really needs to rethink their packaging since the product itself is rather messy and in such a loose form.

This product can be purchased for US 4.50 at the Everyday Minerals website.

Would I repurchase? Maybe, but perhaps I’d wait for a re-pacakaged version as this is simply too messy and annoying to be tolerated with.

Beauty Tools – My Makeup Brushes

Makeup Brushes! Where would a girl be without them? These are the utmost essential tools that every girl must have in their makeup collection, particularly if you’re applying mineral makeup, a good collection of brushes is often THE most important thing to cater a budget for apart from building the actual makeup collection itself. No makeup collection is complete without a good set of quality brushes.

Having said that, my collection of brushes, as you can see from the pic above, is rather small compared to most. However, this is sufficient for my current needs. I hardly use eye makeup, hence the lack of eye brushes. I have only recently started building my brush collection myself as I never felt the need for it until recently when I started on an almost frenzied obsession with mineral makeup. Prior to this, my beauty tool was my finger which I use to blend in my tinted moisturizer. However, I have since discovered the effectiveness of using brushes in the art of blending, powdering and buffing makeup and have been in search of quality brushes ever since.

I have managed to build a small and humble collection, thanks to the existence of mineral makeup companies which made purchasing brushes rather affordable compared to purchasing a single makeup brush for $50 at MAC or any other grand makeup brand for that matter. That is why my humble collection is made up of mostly mineral makeup brushes.

The Body Shop Foundation Brush – AUD 23.95

This was my very first good quality brush purchase. Prior to this, due to extreme stinginess and my “didn’t think brushes were all that important” attitude, I basically had a bunch of brushes from the Manicare range purchased at Priceline which I’ve since discarded.

Anyhow, I love this foundation brush. It is soft and you can feel that it is of high quality. It blends liquid foundation well onto skin.

Signature Minerals Luscious Ultimate Kabuki Brush – USD 16.95

My very first mineral makeup kabuki brush which I purchased alongside my very first mineral makeup order from Signature Minerals. This has become an absolute staple in my brush collection and I absolutely love this. It’s luscious, it’s soft and it is oh so fine. It is made of synthetic hair and you’ll feel absolutely luxurious pampering yourself with this kabuki brush. Trust me, you’ll love it from your very first application.

I have absolutely no idea how it turned out to have that lopsided angle. Perhaps it’s due to extensive pressure that I put on it whilst I’m applying my makeup. Anyhow, it gives beautiful and even coverage. Absolutely gorgeous!

Signature Minerals 7 Pc Synthetic Brush Set – USD 24.95

This set of brushes are extremely soft and equally as luscious as my kabuki brush. I am absolutely in love with all of them – all of my Signature Minerals brushes are an absolute gem and I am utterly elated and happy with them.

The set contains a powder brush, a blush brush, an eyeshadow brush, a crease brush, an angled liner/brow brush, a small shadow/lip brush and a spoolie. They are travel sized brushes made of fine and high quality synthetic hair and are obviously slightly shorter than normal sized brushes. I use all of them as alternates to my full size brushes.

It comes in a black pouch which contains a flap as well as a little pocket for easy storage of your travel size mineral makeup! Perfect for travel!

Everyday Minerals Angled Blush Brush – USD 8

As you can see I love synthetic hair brushes. I feel that they are way softer than natural hair bristles.

Another one of my favorites is this Angled Blush Brush I got from Everyday Minerals. Again, made of synthetic hair, the brush is absolutely soft but is good at picking up the blush pigments. The fact that it is angled makes it so much better as it provides better definition for a proper blush application as well as for a better contoured effect.

I love this so much that I am considering buying another one. Sigh….

Everyday Minerals Long Handled Kabuki – USD 10

My second kabuki brush! This one comes with a long handle for easier and more comfortable application. The synthetic hair on this one isn’t as luscious as my kabuki brush from Signature Minerals but it does the job well of providing even coverage well enough, and is so so so soft on skin.

Everyday Minerals Flat Top Brush – USD 10

I hesitated when buying this as I truly didn’t know what to do with it. However, after doing a little research and due to my increasing curiousity at what it really does, I purchased it anyway.

I’ve never regretted my impulsive decision. This is quite a fantastic brush to use to apply a more even and better coverage of both foundation and concealer onto your skin compared to the kabuki brushes. The bristles are reasonably soft and also great for buffing off color when you’ve applied a little bit too much powder on your face.

I mostly use this to brush on an all over face base powder as I feel that this sets the powder well compared to the other brushes.

As you can see I truly love all

of my blushes. I’m glad I have started to build up this collection and now that I have them, I don’t ever think I can live without them. Getting good quality brushes is of extreme importance as not only do they not shed but they also provide a better finish for your makeup application. Oh, and don’t forget to wash them often! I myself wash my brushes with shampoo on a weekly basis and use my alternate set whilst waiting for the other to dry. So it is a good investment to have two sets of each.

I am hoping to build a bigger collection. In time, I probably will and when I have a better collection, I’ll showcase them all again here. Till then….

Review: Signature Minerals Soft Sunshine Color Corrector

Description: For light to medium light skin tones; covers dark undereye circles and reduces the appearance of undereye puffiness.

Soft Sun Concealer is a matte very light yellow powder with no sparkle or shimmer. It is meant to neutralize undereye circles and bluish/purplish marks that may appear on the undereye area. This Soft Sun Concealer light yellow shade seems to blend well with my skin tone. However, personally I think it works best as an eye brightener than as a puffiness concealer.

For one thing, I am surprised that a powder concealer can actually work well to cover dark undereye circles and instantly brighten the eye area. Dark circles are gone without a trace with this one. So that pleased me. Unfortunately, it does zilch for my undereye puffs. Post application, I still have humongous bags under my eye and the extra brightening effect that this product provides only enhances the puffs even more.

To apply, basically, all I do with this product is dab a few dots of the powder on my undereye area using a concealer brush after applying eye cream but without waiting it to dry. Then, I blend it in with my fingers and I’ve found that this method works best to conceal undereye circles. I’ve found that applying it on its own without blending it with an eye cream produces a somewhat dry and cakey effect which is hard to blend and stands out as an uneven bright undereye patch after applying foundation. The effect without the eye cream is ashen and not neutralized.

It can also be used very lightly all across the eyelids as an eye primer which tends to make the eye looks healthier, brighter and make eyeshadows appear better. On the whole, I think this is a great product for light to medium skin tones to conceal and brighten dark undereye circles. However it does nothing to reduce undereye puffiness. For that, I still turn to my Benefit Boi-ing which does both jobs well. I basically only use Soft Sun once in a while when I need extra brightening effects.

For darker skin tones, there is the Sunshine Color Corrector which has the same functionality as Soft Sun except it is of a darker yellow shade meant for medium to medium dark skin tones.

I got mine in a sample jar and will most likely not bother to get the full jar as it does not seem to produce the full effect of brightening undereye circles and reducing puffiness. For my often puffy eyes, I’d rather a concealer which counters the latter concern rather than the former.

This product can be purchased at Signature Minerals website with the following sizes:

  • 30g Jar $14.00
  • 20g Jar $10.00
  • 10g Jar $6.95

Or be like me and try out a sample first to see if it is suitable for you before committing to a large jar which will last you a gazillion years.

Long list eh? One begins to wonder how could one jar of cream be so effective to counter against so many skin concerns. I received a full size sample jar from Blue Silk Cosmetics a few weeks ago for review purposes (a thousand heartfelt gratitude to Blue Silk) and I wanted to wait for a good and reasonable time period to pass before passing on my reviews and judgments on this cream.

After using it for almost three to four weeks now, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised that this cream really does do what it says it will do. This is now a cream I heart so very much.

The texture of this blue colored cream is gel-like and has a very smooth and fine consistency. You would notice this right away as soon as you dip your fingers into the jar. It has a pleasant smell….like cocoa butter or shea butter…which also reminds me of bread. I, honestly do not mind the very slight scent that it has.

On first application, my opinion on it was that it applies on very smoothly, non greasy and absorbs really fast and easily leaving skin feeling soft and silky. I could also feel intense hydration to my dry skin and my skin does not feel parched or dry in any way at all though I’ve only applied a little coin size dollop all over my face. So a little bit definitely goes a long way with this one.

I used it before I went to bed at night and I must say that I was so impressed by the after effects in the morning. After sleeping it off for a good 7 hours, my skin still felt deeply moisturized and not dry at all. The smoothness and silkiness of my skin is such a luscious feeling, I tell you.

Anyhow, I’ve been using this religiously for the past few weeks as my night moisturizer and I can tell you that apart from the calming effects that it has on my skin, I’ve noticed that my skin tone has become a bit brighter, more even and even more amazingly, I could see some of my pigmentation spots becoming slightly lighter.

My sister tried this on as well and she seems to have benefited a great deal from it having had a bout of hayfever associated skin irritations. Even my fiance has enjoyed using this cream to heal acne-scarred skin.

I must admit that even after a few weeks I can see small signs of good changes happening to my skin and I’m pretty sure that over time, all these effects would compound. Skin looks more plump and healthy after using Blue Silk. I’m a definite fan now. It also seems to act as a great primer to the skin preparing it well for makeup. The fact that this product is free or parabens, mineral oil, paraffin, has no artificial fragrances and not tested on animals makes me feel even better about this product.

Blue Silk Skin Perfection Creme has definitely impressed me and I’ve always had trouble finding a cream that does basically everything for my skin and this is it. I am a definite convert now and I am not just saying this because I got a free jar. I do honestly love this product, so much so that I’ve reordered four more jars of this cream to take advantage of the current sale that they’re having on the product which slashes the price from $44 to $25.

I could seriously go on about this product for ages as I do love it honestly. Why not try a sample for yourself if you’re still feeling skeptical? Head over to the Blue Silk website, read about it, read a few reviews on it and maybe get a week’s worth free sample for which you only need to fork out a flat rate shipping cost of $4.95. Otherwise, if you’re completely intrigued and trust the many raving reviews on this product thus far, get yourself a full jar at the now discounted price of $24.95 for a 40ml jar which will probably last you a good quarter of the year, at least. Blue Silk Cosmetics ships worldwide and normal shipping costs is $11.95 internationally, $6.95 for Canada and $4.95 for USA.

I would however recommend that you try a sample out first as everyone’s skin reacts differently to beauty products.

This is the ultimate indulgent treatment cream that your skin deserves. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has skin problems or even just anyone who wants to have healthy, plump even-toned skin. =)

My Secret Runway

Here’s a little bit of story about this particular fashion blogshop that captured my interest on my recent browse through the web. After making a few inquiries and finding out more about their collection, I thought it’d be interesting to make a little promotion here at Indulgent Reviews.

In fact, I thought it’d be a great idea to scout for some of these web fashion finds and share them with y’all. =)

My Secret Runway is run by a few Singaporean ladies with a collection of fashionable outfits shipped all the way from the USA. They definitely look gorgeous and I’m pretty sure they’re of good quality though I have yet to try one myself. =)

What I found intriguing was the whole concept behind it, which I think is absolutely amazing. Basically, their blogshop caters for women/girls of all shapes and sizes, from XS to XXXXL. Isn’t that just wonderful?

The only unfortunate thing is they have yet to ship worldwide and is currently only operating in Singapore. So to all you Singaporean ladies, do reap the chance to own some of these fantastic fashion finds hailing all the way from the USA. Prices, from what I can see, range between $30 – $40 SGD.

Just thought I’d share this with y’all. Will endeavor to look out for more interesting and buzzing fashion finds on the web! So be patient with me while I scout around, yeah? :)
