    NYX

Description: The cult favorite, this luxurious conditioner, scented with rice flower, shea, bergamot and juniper is the ultimate way to revitalize stressed tresses. Crema’s intense moisturizing properties are designed to heal and restore split ends, breakage, dryness associated with chemical treatments and environmental damage (wind, sun, chlorine and sea salt deposits), as well as combat static electricity. By altering the pH level of the hair, Crema opens the cuticle and allows moisture into hair leaving it soft, silky and shiny. Use Crema daily for healthy, manageable, and frizz-free hair.

    Price: AU$30 for 200ml

This is one cult favourite which did not disappoint me. I’ve used this product for years and is definitely a product I turn back to for repairing work on my hair whenever other products have damaged it or made it worse. The Terax Crema is an amazing product which was perfect for my dry and unruly, frizzy hair. The scent isn’t remarkable, but is tolerable to me. The texture of it is smooth and creamy and leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft and lovely immediately after use.

This product has rescued my hair many times over the years and I’d certainly recommend it to anyone in need of a little moisture or a lot of moisture in their tresses. Though it is a heavy / deep hair conditioner, I believe it is a product which can be used as a daily conditioner on dry/damaged hair types. I certainly do. However, for those with fine hair who would like to try this product, I’d probably suggest using it as a treatment/mask rather than a conditioner as it might be too heavy if your hair is fine as it is.

I don’t think this product is for everyone, as I’ve read some nasty revuiews out there, but for me, it certainly is and will always be my lifesaver. Using this always makes my hair feel it’s softest and it also reduces hair breakage for me. The formula detangles and strengthens my hair well and it is obvious from my rave through this post that I have absolutely no ill think to say about it.

Terax Crema – you truly are my holy grail conditioner.

    revlongrowluscious

Description: The first Revlon mascara that helps lashes grow stronger while visibly adding length and volume

-Lash enhancing formula complements the natural growth cycle of your lashes, improving their overall appearance and conditioning with each use
-Get lashes that look instantly longer and lusher and will also grow stronger day after day
    -Oversized lash-extending brush
    -Ophthalmologist tested

This mascara was just recently launched in Australia, and on a whim, I decided to try it. Revlon makes a ton of claims with this mascara – some of which seems to be rather far fetched.

I, for one, cannot accurately ascertain some of it’s claims but will do the best with a review on what I do experience when using this mascara.

The way the product is promoted, one would think that it is a product which can and will grow your lashes for you. However, reading into the fine lines, the formula actually incorporates unique fibres and phytopeptides comples which apparently helps to enhance your lashes’ condition which thus allows them to remain strong and intact. This prevents premature breakage – which may make some ladies feel like their lashes have grown, but in actual fact, it’s really just sort of making them more healthy. So don’t expect the product to miraculously grow your lashes for you. That’s not what it’ll do – or at least not what I’ve seen anyway.

On making them look more healthy, I might have to wait a while more to see that effect. I do note though that since using this mascara religiously for the past two weeks, I have not had any lashes fallout at all. I suppose that can probably be deemed as a boost to the strength of my lashes which I can only attribute to using this mascara as I do not apply any other lash growing or strengthening serum to it.

    revlonlusciousbrush

Packaging-wise, very minimal. Nothing fancy. The mascara comes with a massive brush – I mean, serious, it’s huge! Probably the largest mascara wand I’ve ever, ever used!

The formula is thick and dry – which in a way, suits me well as I don’t particularly fancy wet mascara formulas. Application is easy as I have long lashes, however, it might be a challenge to those with shorter lashes. The formula wins on volumizing effect as my lashes has never looked better and more plumped. It does not curl or lengthen, so if those are the effects you’re after, then Revlon’s Grow Luscious Mascara is certainly not for you.

This mascara does not clump but the massive brush does prevent access to those inner corners of the eye and also makes separating lashes hard.

The one irk I have about it – and it is a fairly major irk – is that it flakes. It flakes a lot. Whilst at work I could actually see teensy tiny black falkes under my eye and when I touched my lashes, it flaked all over my fingers.

Dang! I was really liking it but for the fact that it flakes badly.

Overall, decent, but ain’t the best one I’ve tried yet.

    September 3rd, 2010indulgentreviewsFace, Reviews, Skincare

Description: Absorb excess oil, minimize the occurrence of blackheads, and leave your skin beautifully soft and smooth with this unique combination of clay and carbon. This gentle, fragrance-free formula contains soothing anti-inflammatory agents to help reduce redness and irritation, setting you on the path to clear skin.

I have a love hate relationship with this mask. First of all, this mask burns and stings like fire the minute you put it on. That’s the part I hate most about it.

What I like about it though is that once rinsed off, skin feels noticeably smoother and softer.

The product, being a carbon mask, is black in colour and thick in texture. It’s kind of hard to squeeze it out of the tube especially in winter when products like these tend to solidify a little bit in the tube. Anyway, the instructions were to apply a thick layer on clean skin for about 10 – 15 minutes. But, because of the terrible burn effect, I could only stand to use it for about 5 minutes. You literally will feel like your skin is being peeled away when this mask is on. So, so painful.

I thought it was me at first, but having read a few other reviews, I now know that it is the product and everyone seems to have the same experience.

I no longer use this mask for the full face as I really can’t tough out on the pain.

It does work and clean pores real good, but I seriously do think that skin care should not sting that bad and no one should have to endure pain for the sake of smooth and soft skin.

    September 2nd, 2010indulgentreviewsBooks

I have been out sick for the past few days. In essence, I have been pretty miserable. I was not able to upload my scheduled posts for the week on the weekend. Hence, the lack of posts for my usual Monday and Wednesday schedule.

Despite my misery and still being slightly sick, I decided to tough it out and went to work yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised when I found a package from Amazon in my drawers.

    kindlepackage

The spankin’ brand new Kindle 3 I ordered way back in July has finally arrived! Hurrah! Aye to a new reading experience.

I have always been rather skeptical on reading on devices. To me, at one time at least, nothing could replace a physical book.

    kindle

Anyway, I got captivated by the whole ereading thing when I started running out of precious storage room for my books at home. I used to ship my books back to Malaysia, but now, even my parents are stopping me from doing that. They’re running out of space too! I even started selling some of my books on eBay a while ago and that was when I started looking into ereading.

    kindlecover

I started this whole ereading thing through the Kindle and Kobo apps on my Blackberry and Ipod Touch. After a whole lot of getting used to and playing around with Kobo ereader device at Borders, I found that I quite like the reading experience on it.

I went into a frenzy researching on the merits of a Kobo or Kindle and finally settled on a Kindle! Glad I did. Now that it has arrived, I absolutely love the look and feel of it. I’ll get into a proper review once I’ve properly used it – perhaps a review can be posted sometime next week or the week after.

I’m sure I’ll absolutely love it even more coz I am loving it already!
